St. Joseph's Cathedral is sponsoring a food and clothing drive from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday at St. Joseph House, 76 Church St.
Nonperishable food and used clothing may be dropped off during those hours at a St. Vincent de Paul Society truck that will be parked in the Allright parking lot next to St. Joseph House. The drive is part of the cathedral's preparation for the Third Millennium observance, which will focus on charity, justice and reconciliation.
In conjunction with the food and clothing drive, there will be tours of the cathedral at noon Thursday and a lecture at noon Friday by the Rev. Paul Seil, pastor of St. Lawrence parish, on "The Spiritual Struggle." Members of St. Gerard's and St. Lawrence parishes will hold a bake sale in St. Joseph House from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. both days.
