Queen Elizabeth's younger sister Princess Margaret resumed her royal duties Tuesday, opening a counseling center for abused children in Scotland after a six-month break to recover from scalding her feet.

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said Margaret, who was already in Scotland on vacation at the Royal Family's Balmoral retreat, met staff and fund-raisers in Aberdeen working at the new project run by the local city council and charity "Children 1st" -- of which she is patron.

Margaret burned her feet while getting into a bath while on vacation on the Caribbean island of Mustique. The 68-year-old princess also suffered a stroke last February.
