Deadlines are approaching for voters to register if they want to cast ballots in the Nov. 2 general election, the state Board of Elections reports.
Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight Oct. 8 and be received by the local board of elections no later than Oct. 13 to be valid for the upcoming election.
Voter registration forms are available at county boards of elections and at many post offices, libraries and state agency offices throughout the state. People also may call 1-800-FOR-VOTE before next Monday to request a mail
Residents who have moved must reregister from their new address and may do so at their new polling place on election day if they still live in the same county. To find their new polling place, residents should call their local boards of election.
