SUPERINTENDENT ENTITLED TO HEARING

Suspended Cattaraugus Central School Superintendent John Mormile is entitled to a hearing on his suspension, the School Board has ruled.

Mormile, 55, was suspended with full pay and benefits following his arrest on a public lewdness charge last month in Ellicott Creek Park, Town of Tonawanda. He has pleaded innocent and will return to court Oct. 6.

"The investigation regarding John Mormile is complete and the School Board will be following through on disciplinary action by means of due process," School Board President Connie Brown said.

Mormile is entitled to a hearing on the suspension because he has a contract that does not expire for several years, she added.

The board meets today, and any discussion about the superintendent will be behind closed doors as a personnel matter, Brown said.
