Niagara County Democratic Chairman Nicholas J. Forster and Niagara Falls mayoral candidate John G. Accardo participated in a conference call Sunday with Vice President Gore.
Forster said most of the state's county Democratic chairmen were on the call, as they talked about Gore's race for the Democratic presidential nomination. Recent polls show former Sen. Bill Bradley drawing even with Gore in New York.
Forster said he asked Gore to come to Niagara County for a fund-raising event for the county Democrats. Accardo predicted Gore will make that trip sometime in the next six months.
Meanwhile, Accardo said he and Forster were invited to meet Gore personally next Tuesday (Oct. 5) at state Attorney General Elliot Spitzer's home in Columbia County. The next night, Oct. 6, Spitzer will headline a $50-per-person fund-raiser for Democratic Niagara County Legislature candidates from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Macri's Palace Restaurant, 755 West Market St.
Forster said Accardo was included in Sunday's phone call at the Gore camp's request.
