A reception was given in Country Club of Buffalo after Karen A. White became the bride of Alexander Shulzhenko of London, England, at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Louis Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles E. Slisz of St. Andrew Church, Town of Tonawanda, performed the ceremony.
Dr. James J. White Jr. and Sally M. White, both of Buffalo, are the bride's parents. The bridegroom is the son of Volodymyr and Valentyna Shulzhenko of Kiev, Ukraine. The couple traveled to Hawaii and will be at home in London.
A graduate of Nardin Academy and William Smith College, the bride has a master of business administration degree from George Washington University and is a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, London. The bridegroom is a graduate of Taras Sherchenko University, Kiev, with a juris doctor degree and earned a master of laws degree from Fordham University School of Law. He is employed by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, London.
