Artpark will be the site this year of the New York Power Authority's Wildlife Festival, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Live animals, workshops, music and face painting will be featured at Artpark while the Niagara Power Project's Visitor Center undergoes renovation.
Presentations will be given on hawks, reptiles, marine life and native American hunting and fishing techniques.
This year's animal performers include Liberty the Bald Eagle, Kiko the Chimp and the Buffalo Zoomobile.
In addition, workshops on spin casting, archery, turkey and game calling will be given by members of the Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs, in observance of National Hunting and Fishing Day. For dog lovers, there will be retriever training demonstrations, assistance dog information and Alaskan sled dog programs, as well as a presentation on how to adapt a retired racing dog to domestic life.
