The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the following product recalls and remedies. Company: Sonca Products of Hong Kong.
Product: Toy flashlights from Playmobil's Coastal Search and Rescue Boats.
Reason: Defective spring from set's toy flashlight can cause battery overheating or leakage.
I.D.: Sold from July through September for about $40 and came with a boat, raft, diver and captain.
Remedy: Toy set owners should take the flashlight, not the entire toy, away from children immediately and call 800-669-6394 to receive a $5 refund.
Company: New Buffalo Corp. of Chesterfield, Mo.
Product: Fluorescent Work Lights.
Reason: Undersized wiring and exposed electrical parts can shock consumers or cause fires.
I.D.: Hardware and auto supply stores sold the work lights, with model numbers PL-16, between March 1996 and December 1998 for $13.
Remedy: Call 1-800-568-6657 to find out how to obtain a refund.
