Buffalo District, United Methodist Women, will have its annual meeting Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. in St. James United Methodist Church, Niagara Falls. Deacon Deanna Finch-Ross of Hamburg United Methodist Church and members of Mission of Peace Youth will present a program in keeping with the day's theme, "Peace Begins With Me." Carolyn Wrinn, vice president, is program chairwoman and Edith Ressler is taking reservations. Memorial and pledge services will be conducted. Officers will be elected to two-year terms, effective Jan. 1, and will be installed by Carol Forden, president of the United Methodist Women Western New York Conference. Nominees on a single slate to be presented include president, Marge Frank; secretary, Anita Hines; treasurer, Ruth Whitehead.
City Judge Margaret Anderson will speak and awards will be presented at a dinner to be given by Child & Family Services Children's Services Department Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Clarkson Center Culinary Arts Institute. Foster and adoptive families will be honored. Judge Anderson will be one of the award recipients.
Harmonica music by Mark Marotto will highlight a program that Lydia Guild of the United Church Home will present for the residents Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the home on Amherst Street.
Niagara Sailing Club will have an indoctrination program for new members Wednesday in the clubhouse on Grand Island. A board of directors will be elected at a general meeting Oct. 7 and the season's closing work party will be held Oct. 9.
Programs for the year will be discussed at a meeting of Alpha Alpha Chapter, Alpha Delta Kappa, educators' honorary, Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the home of Barbara Walter in Williamsville.
Fruit and herb vinegars will be made at an "Accent the Flavor" luncheon for Southtowns Christian Women's Club Sept. 30 at 11:30 a.m in Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant. Ann Van De Water will be soloist and Lettie Jennings will be the speaker.
