FUNDING FOR ENERGY CENTER OK'D

Cattaraugus County legislators meeting briefly Wednesday approved $10 million in financing for an energy center in Ellicottville.

The money, for Laidlaw Energy, which is taking over operations from Ellicottville Energy, will be borrowed in bonds through the county's Industrial Development Agency.

Legislators also approved repairs to a door at the highway barn in West Valley, paying $5,175 to Overhead Door of Jamestown.

A contract was approved with Cattaraugus Community Action allowing the administration of a $100,000 federal housing grant. As many as 52 substandard low-income housing units will be improved in targeted areas of the county.

The county will receive $2,780 in administrative fees.
