MAN SHOT IN FACE IN FAIR CONDITION

A 34-year-old man who was shot in the face late Monday was removed Tuesday from Erie County Medical Center's intensive care unit and was
listed in fair condition.

Kenneth Reinard, address unavailable, was listed in critical condition early Tuesday following the shooting incident at 10:26 p.m. Monday, but improved overnight and was placed in a regular hospital room, according to hospital
officials.

He was injured while he apparently was talking with Jeffrey Braunbach, 38, of Mallard Drive, Suburban Acres, who was handling a .45 caliber handgun when it discharged at his home. The bullet went through Braunbach's hand or arm and then struck Reinard in the face, Sheriff's Investigator Louis Faery said.

Braunbach, who initially was listed in serious condition late Monday in the Erie County facility, was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, a hospital official said.

Faery said the shooting was under investigation, but he added that the shooting appeared to be accidental.
