Singer Diana Ross missed a flight to New York City today after she was arrested at Heathrow Airport for allegedly assaulting a security officer, news agencies said.

Ms. Ross, 55, was detained after a female security officer who had attempted to search the singer complained of being assaulted.

Ms. Ross was at Heathrow to board a flight to the United States, according to Air News, a news agency based at the terminal, and Press Association, the British news agency.
