2 WOMEN ARRESTED ON FORGERY, LARCENY COUNTS

Two Buffalo women accused of using phony checks to steal more than $3,500 in merchandise from three Military Road business July 4 were arrested Tuesday, Sheriff's Investigator Louis J. Faery said.

Shafone E.M. Williams, 19, of Plymouth Avenue, and Charlotte E. Fleming, 34, of Oxford Street, were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy. Fleming also was charged with third-
degree forgery.

The women are accused of coming to town with fraudulent checks they made up on a computer and having Fleming use them to rent a U-Haul truck and then using more to purchase chairs and bedroom furniture from Big Lots Furniture Store and two televisions, a videocassette recorder and a futon and mattress form Rosa's
appliance store, Faery said.

Faery said most of the merchandise has been recovered after it was found stored in the rented U-Haul.
