A faulty water tower valve that caused flooding problems for some residents in Angola has been repaired, village officials said Monday night.

Residents near the Grove Street water tower complained to the Village Board at its last meeting two weeks ago that they had water in their basements because of an overflow from the tower. At that time, the village said it would turn off the valve each night until it could be repaired.

In other business, the board accepted the resignation of Police Officer Anthony Zolnowski, effective immediately.
