TEEN ACCUSED OF CRASHING STOLEN CAR INTENTIONALLY

An Oak Street teen-ager was apprehended Monday night by Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority police after intentionally crashing a stolen car and narrowly missing several people, officers said.

Jonathan B. Johnson, 18, abandoned the car while it was still in gear, causing the vehicle to strike an apartment at 581 McCarley Gardens, according to NFTA Officer Scott Boll.

Boll chased Johnson and caught him in the Virginia Street area at about 8:20 p.m.

Johnson was charged with reckless endangerment, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
