Louis Nicosia, 81, a retired bricklayer, died Monday (Sept. 20, 1999) in his Cheektowaga home after a long illness.
Born in Buffalo, he attended Our Lady Help of Christians School.
He was a member of Local 45, Bricklayers & Masons, for 50 years and worked on Sisters Hospital, St. Rita's Home and many churches. He retired in 1976.
He was a longtime member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Nicosia was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, the former Rita State; a son, Louis H. of West Seneca; two sisters, Jean Andolina and Rose Ammerati, both of Cheektowaga; a brother, Emanuel of Florida; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 4125 Union Road, Cheektowaga, after prayers at 9:30 in Urban-Amigone Funeral Home, 3645 Genesee St., Cheektowaga. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
