It's not often you find honor among thieves. It must be said, though, that throughout the controversy over the clemency deal for 14 Puerto Rican nationals, two people have shown a commitment to their principles.
Otherwise, nearly everyone else has acted shamelessly.
There was little sign of contrition among the 12 deal-accepting members of the terrorist group, the FALN, for their seditious acts -- ranging from plotting to bomb military training centers to armed robbery.
And there was little honor in the White House. Bill Clinton denies he offered this rare clemency deal to win Hispanic votes for his wife in her probable New York Senate race. And Hillary Clinton is acting like this was a gift she never wanted.
No, the only two who've acted honestly in this disgraceful mess are Antonio Camacho Negron and Oscar Lopez Rivera, the FALN members who decided they would rather stay in prison than renounce their violent, twisted ideology. Way to go, guys.
