BILLS TACKLE LITERACY WITH PUPILS IN BUFFALO

The Buffalo Bills launched a monthlong literacy program in the Buffalo Public Schools today, with offensive guard John Fina reading to several classes at Black Rock Academy, School 51.

The reading program, "Rush for Reading," will send the top reader from participating schools to Ralph Wilson Stadium for a pizza party with the Bills and a private tour of the stadium.

Rush for Reading is sponsored by the Buffalo Bills Youth Foundation and the Just Buffalo Literary Center, with help from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Western New York, a business partner to Black Rock Academy.

More than 12,000 fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders are expected to participate. The program will encourage pupils to track the number of books they have read during the month.
