UNITED STATES GRABS
2-0 LEAD IN FED CUP

Big Sister came up with a big win as the United States took a 2-0 lead over Russia in the Fed Cup final.

Venus Williams, reduced to the role of spectator and sibling as Serena Williams won the U.S. Open last weekend, was a 6-3, 6-4 winner over Elena Likhovtseva in Saturday's opening singles match before a subdued crowd.

Lindsay Davenport then gave the U.S. a two-match lead by needing just 55 minutes to win, 6-4, 6-0, over Elena Dementieva, making her Fed Cup singles debut.

The Americans need one more victory today to wrap up the title in the best-of-five event.
