Looking for a way to raise money for a good cause? Take a cue from the Town of Tonawanda's Youth, Parks and Recreation Department.
Once again, the town held its end-of-summer picnic in Lincoln Park, drawing a few of its hardiest officials into the dunk tank to raise a few bucks for the Friends of Youth Foundation.
As always, the big draw was Ken-Ton School Board member Dan Wiles, who finally revealed his secret strategy for staying No. 1.
"Before it starts," he said, "I walk around and insult all the 13-year-old boys."
Looks like it worked. The dunkings raised $220 this year, most of which poured in while Wiles was in the tank.
