Calls for work

Impact Artists' Gallery is seeking volunteers to work in the gallery, write grant proposals and start a newsletter. The gallery is also offering an internship for art students. College-level interns will qualify for credit, and high school students will gain experience working in a gallery. Call 835-6817 for information.

Poster contest entries representing the 25th annual Juneteenth Festival are currently being accepted. The winning design will be used on posters and T-shirts. Certain elements must be included in the design: poster size 11 by 17 inches, maximum three-color design, dates of festival and the motto "Striving to keep our tradition and culture alive." Area senior citizens age 55 or older are eligible to show and sell their handmade crafts or artwork at the "Salute to Elder Craftsmen" 1999 arts and crafts show and sale. The show will be held Oct. 15 and 16 at the Prime Outlets Mall, 1900 Military Road, Niagara Falls. Fee for the two-day show is $30 per eight-foot table. Butterfrog Ministries, a non-profit organization, is conducting a second taping of "If Only . . . ," a Christian television show. People of all ages are encouraged to come and share their talents. The tapings will be held Saturday and Oct. 2 and 9 in Williamsville. The first series of tapings included children from Delevan, Nunda, Alden, Scio, West Amherst and Lockport.
