The Ellicott Town Board will hold a public hearing for a comprehensive water and sewer district plan at 7 p.m. Oct. 6.
Town Supervisor Patrick Tyler said the district is being formed so the City of Jamestown can collect fees from new customers.
"The contract calls for residents in the Town of Ellicott paying 50 percent more than what the city rate is, so it's 1 1/2 times what the city residents pay, and that's the normal costs," he said.
"It will not affect the people who are in existing districts. It will just be for new people coming in to form a new service area," he said.
