The Kenan Center Arena will present the fifth annual "Art in the Arena" Sept. 25-26, featuring close to 50 artists and, as a new attraction this year, live music.
Original artworks, photographs and prints will be available for sale during the art show, which will feature watercolors, acrylics, drawings, collages and mixed media.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 25 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26.
Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children ages 12 and under. The arena is located at 195 Beattie Ave.
Four different musical groups will perform throughout the two-day event, including the Great Lakes Brass, Wildthyme, the Ralph Fava Duo and pianist Kevin Clark. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase, with catering by LaDeeDa Coffee Roasters.
The show will feature the largest number of artists it has attracted in its five years, according to Kenan Marketing Coordinator Jeanne Gunby. The artists come from throughout Western New York, she said.
"This is sort of like an outdoor summer street show, but it's indoors," Ms. Gunby said.
"There is quite a variety of styles. It's a good opportunity for first-time buyers and for business people to decorate their homes and offices.
"We will also have a couple of professionals framers in booths to offer their advice on framing," she added.
The show also features a Kids' Art Corner, offering children a chance to participate in freearts and crafts.
