Loretta Smith, 58, died Thursday (Sept. 9, 1999) in her Niagara Avenue home after a brief illness.
The former Loretta Hill was born in Oshweken, Ont., and she moved here in 1960.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and an active volunteer for several community groups.
She was a member of the Indian Defense League of America. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne and Nathan; three daughters, Noreen Hill, Loretta Ligammari and Lisa; five brothers, Roger Hill of Fort Erie, Ont., and Gene Hill, Floyd Hill, Scott Hill, and Rene Hill, all of the Six Nations Reserve, Ont.; 11 sisters, Frances Bush of Silver Springs, and Joyce Davis, Erma Maracle, Brenda Martin, Annette Hill, Cheryl Hill, Terry Hill, Justine Hill, Tammy Hill, Andrea Hill, and Verna Smith, all of the Six Nations Reserve; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be private.
