Floyd C. Smith, 46, of West Seneca, a retired millwright, died Friday (Sept. 10, 1999) in Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
A Buffalo native and graduate of West Seneca East High School, Smith, who was called "Beany," had been a millwright for Niagara Mohawk until retiring in 1997 because of ill health.
He was a member of Sons of the Legion, Walkers Lodge in Limestone and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, the former Francie J. Frontera; two daughters, Jeanna L. and Lindsay V. and a son, Jonathan M., all of West Seneca; two sisters, Bonny Emden and Jean Harrington, both of West Seneca; and a brother, Carl of Boston, N.Y.
Services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Monday in Urban Amigone Funeral Home, 1024 French Road, West Seneca, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in Fourteen Holy Helpers Church, Indian Church Road, Gardenville. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
