NEW ERA PARTY IN SLOAN ENDORSES TOWN CANDIDATES

Sloan's ruling New Era Party announced Wednesday its endorsements for election to offices in the Town of Cheektowaga. Party Chairman Robert Gibala said the party supports:

For town supervisor, William P. Rogowski; for council member, Ed Kosmoski, Frank W. Orlikowski and James J. Makowski; for town justice, Thomas S. Kolbert; and for 5th District county legislator, Kenneth A. Pokorski.

All but Pokorski, a Republican, are Democrats. Rogowski, Kosmoski, Orlikowski and Makowski are unendorsed candidates in Tuesday's Democratic primary.

Rogowski, Kosmoski, Orlikowski, Kolbert and Pokorski have been endorsed by the town's Republican Party for the November general election.

"We based our endorsements on the strong connection and commitment each of the candidates have to the Village of Sloan," Gibala said. "The (incumbents) have failed to show a true interest in aiding the village.

Pokorski is mayor and Rogowski a former mayor of Sloan. "They're our village's favorite sons," Gibala said.

The New Era Party presently enjoys a 3-2 majority on the Sloan Village Board.
