Mary P. Battaglia, 73, a department store sales clerk for more than 40 years, died Monday (Sept. 6, 1999) in Veterans Hospital.
Born in Buffalo, Miss Battaglia was a 1944 graduate of Hutchinson-Central High School.
She began her sales career at J.N. Adam in the 1940s, then worked at Hens & Kelly, Sattler's, L.L. Berger, AM&A's and the Bon-Ton. She was a cosmetic specialist and buyer for Berger's and received many awards, including salesperson of the year. She retired in 1990.
She enjoyed crafts and collecting craft items.
Surviving are two sisters, Josephine Petrella of Snyder and Josephine Carbone of Liverpool; and a brother, Frank Scaruto of Angola.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church, 157 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga, after prayers at 9 in Amigone Funeral Home, 569 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
