Willie V. Billips, 76, of Jordan Gardens, a retired furnace operator at National Carbon Co., died Thursday (Sept. 2, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Elba, Ala., and moved to Niagara Falls in 1943.
Billips retired from National Carbon in 1965 because of ill health.
He enjoyed playing cards and watching baseball.
Survivors include his wife, the former Willie Merl Adams; three sons, Calvin V. of Decatur, Ga., Eddie R. and Ernest Nelson; three daughters, Willie Pearl of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Laura and Dorothy Parks; a sister, Earline Harris of Amherst; two grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Full Gospel Deliverance Center Church, 1215 South Ave. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
