TWO FIELD GOALS LEAD TERPS PAST TEMPLE

Brian Kopka kicked two short field goals in the first half as Maryland beat Temple, 6-0, in a lackluster season college football opener.

Kopka's 27-yard field goal came with 7:12 left in the first quarter. He added a 26-yarder with 3:08 left in the half.

Elsewhere, Amp Campbell, who broke his neck in a loss to Oregon last season, returned a fumble 85 yards in the fourth quarter to give Michigan State its first lead as the Spartans paid back the Ducks with a 27-20 win. The Spartans scored 17 straight points after trailing, 17-7, in the third quarter.
