Lynn Millane, the first woman to serve as Amherst town supervisor, has been appointed to a five-year term on the state Ethics Commission, Gov. Pataki announced Thursday.
She succeeds Angelo A. Constanza of Rochester and will be the only woman on the five-member panel.
The commission meets monthly to answer requests for advisory opinions, consider investigations, adopt rules and regulations, and review recommendations from hearing officers. They are unpaid; their expenses are reimbursed.
