PEOPLES HAD NO RIGHT TO INTERFERE WITH POLICE

Congratulations to Erie County Legislature Majority Leader Crystal Peoples, "Case dismissed in the interests of justice." I guess abusing her authority has no limits. First, she yells at police officers and supervisors answering a domestic call, and physically interferes with them. Then she has the audacity to threaten them with their jobs.

Thankfully, Officer James O'Donnell had the gumption to do the right thing and arrest Peoples. As a lawmaker and public servant, she should know better than to interfere with the police while in the midst of a violent confrontation. If she was not happy with the officers' conduct, there are proper procedures to follow.

To top it off, Peoples held a rally to push efforts to create a civilian review board to investigate police abuse. Maybe her time should have been spent counting her blessings and preparing a public apology to her constituents and my fellow members of the Buffalo Police Department.
