NORTHWESTERN FULLBAC K DIES OF HODGKIN'S DISEASE

Ex-fullback Matt Hartl, one of the leaders of the 1995 Northwestern football team that played in the Rose Bowl, has died after a lengthy battle with Hodgkin's disease. He was 23.

In other college football news, former Miami Dolphins quarterback Don Strock is set to head the football program at Florida International University, which plans on fielding a Division I-AA team in 2001.
