Ernest H. Craigie, 81, a retired Pratt & Lambert executive and a patron of the arts, died Tuesday (Aug. 31, 1999) at his Buffalo residence after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Buffalo, he was a graduate of Lafayette High School and a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Buffalo. He also attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
He was an active member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and served as elder, treasurer and clerk of session. He was a past president of the Buffalo Chapter of the National Paint and Coating Association.
Craigie was employed at Pratt & Lambert for 45 years, retiring as trade service manager in 1983.
He enjoyed playing the piano and was a supporter of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and local theaters. He was an avid bowler.
He is survived by a sister, Kathleen Tenz of Clarence.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in Bethlehem Church, Bird Avenue and Hoyt Street. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
