Patrick F. Macauley, 45, a resident of downtown Buffalo for 15 years, died Friday (Jan. 29, 1999) in Erie County Medical Center after a long illness.

Macauley, who was born in Amherst, was left a paraplegic as the result of an accident in 1972. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1976 and received a bachelor of arts degree in history from Daemen College in 1980.

He was well known to residents and workers in the downtown area because of his friendly, outgoing personality. He enjoyed reading and drawing.

Survivors include his mother, Mary of Amherst; four sisters, Maureen Schesser, Kathleen Herdlein, Sheila Daniels and Eileen Dempsey; and three brothers, John M., Timothy and Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Eggertsville.
