FALLS MAN CONVICTED OF ASSAULT

A Niagara Falls man accused of attempted murder in a March 7 stabbing was cleared of that charge but convicted of first-degree assault Friday by a Niagara County Court jury.

Marc A. Madore, 27, of Cudaback Avenue, faces sentencing March 3 by Niagara County Judge Peter L. Broderick, who presided over the five-day trial. Madore was accused of stabbing a man in the chest several times in Niagara Falls.
