Anna K. May, 96, died Wednesday (Jan. 27, 1999) in Schoellkopf Health Center.

Mrs. May, a former Independence Avenue resident, was born Anna Latham in Bolton County, England. She moved to Canada with her parents when she was a child, and moved to Niagara Falls in 1923, the year after her marriage to Thomas F. May in Hamilton, Ont. He died in 1986.

During World War II, Mrs. May worked for the Carborundum Co. Later, she worked for a while in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, before becoming a housekeeper at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, a job from which she retired in 1967.

She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.

Mrs. May enjoyed gardening and taking care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter Marie Coram; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. James United Methodist Church, 4661 Porter Road. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
