NCCC PRESIDENT PLANS TRIP TO ALBANY TO SEEK AID

In her first meeting as president of Niagara County Community College, Antonette J. Cleveland said Wednesday that she is planning to travel to Albany on Monday to lobby Gov. Pataki for more financial aid for community
college students.

On Wednesday, Pataki announced his plans for the year 2000 state budget, with no increase in aid for community college students. Ms. Cleveland said she will travel with Trustee Edward J. Pawenski to the state capital to try to gain some ground.

In another matter Wednesday, Ms. Cleveland released her goals, which include establishing a strong working relationship with the board of trustees, and establishing a strong working relationship with internal campus constituents. She said she would do this, in part, by attending all major committee meetings at least once, visiting functional areas on and off campus, and meeting regularly with the Faculty Senate, the Student Senate and all union leaders.
