The Erie County Bar Association has a new program to help needy clients get free legal help from Buffalo's biggest law firms.
The Large Law Firm Pro Bono Legal Services Program will coordinate the legal needs of the poor with attorneys in the region's largest law firms. Ten Buffalo firms, employing a total of 450 lawyers, have committed resources to the new program, the Bar Association said.
Buffalo attorney Gary Gaffney oversees the program, which is part of the Bar Association's Volunteer Lawyers Project. The new large-firm program is funded by the John R. Oishei Foundation.
Clients who need assistance from the program should contact the Volunteer Lawyers Project office at 700 Statler Towers, phone 847-0662.
