James Francis Rennie, 72, of Palm Harbor, Fla., a retired career sales executive for General Motors Corp. in Buffalo, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1999) in Mease Hospital-Countryside, Safety Harbor, Fla., after a brief illness.

Born in Buffalo, he lived in Orchard Park for many years. He was a sales promotion manager for GM until his retirement several years ago. He moved to Florida in 1997.

He was a member of the Highland Lakes Men's Golf League, the Travel Club and the Organ Club in Palm Harbor. While living in the Buffalo area, he had been president of the Orchard Park Kiwanis Club and the Orchard Park Council of the Arts.

Survivors include his wife, the former Shirley Rimcen of Palm Harbor; two daughters, Pamela Aromola of New Orleans and Laurie Mitrovich of Middletown, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Luke Evangelist Church, Palm Harbor. Interment will be private.
