Howard P. Schneider, 80, a past president of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness.
A native of Syracuse, Schneider moved to this area many years ago. He worked as a truck driver at Geiger Enterprises in Buffalo, as a supervisor at Bell Aerosystems in Wheatfield and as a custodian at the Niagara Factory Outlet Mall.
He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Shriners in Niagara Falls and a former member of Bergholz Fire Company.
Survivors include his wife, the former Joyce Hammer; five daughters, Penny Mosier of Holley, Dottie Marquis of Liverpool, Melinda Aud of Wilmette, Ill., Helen McDonough of North Tonawanda and Carol of Niagara Falls; two brothers, John of Kenmore and Donald of Buffalo; five sisters, Jinnie Schnirel of Geneva and Ann DelPriore, Dora Harke, Arlene Becker and Tootsie Slive, all of Syracuse; and 15 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz.
