HAMBURG IDA TO AIR BRYANT & STRATTON PLANS

A public hearing on Bryant & Stratton Business Institute's request for a $3.39 million bond through the Hamburg Industrial Development Agency to relocate its Southtowns campus to Camp Road in Hamburg will be held at 8 a.m. Feb. 23 in Room 7 in the basement of Town Hall.

The business school has filed an application with the IDA for a standard, 10-year non-industrial payment-in-lieu-of-tax plan for its project.

Bryant & Stratton is looking to buy 4.85 acres on Commerce Place near Thruway Exit 57 along Camp Road and build a 30,000-square-foot building and buy machinery and equipment. Bryant & Stratton officials told the IDA in December that they want to relocate their campus from their current one at an Abbott Road strip plaza in Lackawanna to be more convenient and draw more Southern Tier students. Their plan is to be relocated by this September.

The relocation plans for the Southtowns is part of an overall plan by the school to move and upgrade nearly all of its 14 campuses in the East, eight of them in the state.
