Police in Omaha, Neb., are looking for a man who allegedly shot and killed a Westfield native and seriously wounded another former Westfield man Sunday. James M. Cunningham, 21, died of the gunshot wound he suffered when a fight broke out at a party. His roommate, Chad Lindstrom, 28, was listed in serious but stable condition Monday in St. Joseph North Hospital, Omaha.

Wanted in the shootings is Gary Frazier, 29, of Omaha.

Cunningham's mother, Renee, said Monday her son had been shot at a party, but added, "We don't know much about it. We have not been able to get much information from the police out there (in Omaha)."

Mrs. Cunningham said her son had been working in Omaha for a while and Lindstrom moved out more recently.

Omaha police are calling the shooting a homicide. Cunningham and Lindstrom were at a party in an apartment adjacent to their unit about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when the fight broke out, officers confirmed.

Police said shots were fired and Cunningham was struck in the abdomen. He was pronounced dead a short time later in St. Joseph North Hospital. Lindstrom was shot in the lower back.

A warrant was issued for Frazier's arrest.
