Spider-Man's creator is spinning a new kind of web.

Stan Lee, the founder of Marvel Comics and its stable of superheroes including The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, and the world's best-known web-crawler, Spider-Man, is creating a home for new characters on

Lee and Marvel parted ways amicably in November so he could create new characters independently of Marvel. He remains a member of Marvel's editorial board and holds the title of chairman emeritus.

The Web site, which launches in the spring, will allow visitors to check on the latest adventures of Lee's new heroes, play games and send e-mail. It also will serve as a trading post for comic books and other merchandise.
