Raymond V. Almeter, 85, a retired metallurgist, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) in the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home, Springville.
Born in North Java, he retired as a metallurgist at the former K. R. Wilson Co. plant here after 32 years of service. Previously, he worked at American Brass Corp. and Buffalo Arms Corp.
He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church here and the Knights of Columbus in Yorkshire.
He and former Isabell G. Hansen were married in Varysburg in 1941.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Gregory of Arizona, Richard of North Carolina and Anthony; three daughters, Rae Jewett of Chaffee, Sheila Vassar of Eagle and Grace Redding; a sister, Madeline Almeter; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 417 W. Main St. Burial will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
