Hilda Louise Harper Hurst, 91, a former Buffalo and Evans Center resident, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) in her Altoona, Fla., home.
Born Hilda Louise Harper in Buffalo, she was a 1928 graduate of the University of Buffalo and taught history for several years at Forestville High School. She became a homemaker in Evans Center after marrying Angola attorney Floyd Harvey Hurst in 1934.
After her husband's retirement, they traveled extensively in their Airstream trailer, eventually settling in Dade City, Fla. They later moved to Altoona.
She was a former member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Angola.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Martha Hurst Bruner of Elyria, Ohio, and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in Lakeview Terrace Lounge, Altoona. A memorial service also is scheduled for 2 p.m. Aug. 7 in First Congregational United Church of Christ, 132 N. Main St., Angola. Burial will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery, Derby.
