Amherst Central High School will be 70 years old next year, and the school's alumni organization is planning an anniversary celebration for June 9-11, 2000.

Robert Laskie, president of the Amherst Alumni Foundation, said the festivities will include an all-day open house at the school; a musical review featuring alumni from past operettas; a dinner and dance in Adams Mark Hotel; and a reception for all alumni, as well as individual class parties.

Laskie said the foundation has formed an anniversary committee, which will provide more information as plans unfold. He said the foundation has a reunion every five years, but holds a larger event every
10 years.
