SEVERAL ARRESTS MADE IN SERIES OF CAR THEFTS

Car thieves were busy over the weekend, but so were Buffalo police, who made several arrests on the East Side.

Genesee Station officers said they arrested Michael V. Redick, 32, at his Winslow Avenue home Sunday morning and recovered a car stolen Wednesday from Landon Street. The car was damaged, stripped and had no plates, they added. Redick was charged with felony possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Genesee Station police Saturday recovered a car stolen from Lawn Avenue Wednesday. The car, in good condition, was found on Northampton Street.

Jermaine D. Williams, 21, of May Street was charged with felony possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Broadway Station officers said they arrested two men in a stolen car with switched plates. The car was taken last Monday and found in the 300 block of Fillmore Avenue.

The driver, Antoine D. Robinson, 23, of Titus Avenue, and the passenger, Joe N. Davis, 24, of Shumway Street, were charged with felony possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Robinson also was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, driving without a valid license and improper use of plates.
