Gladys V. Stearns, 85, of Oil City, Pa., a longtime Buffalo resident and homemaker, died Jan. 14, 1999, in Northwest Medical Center, Franklin, Pa., after an extended illness.

Born in Titusville, Pa., she came to Buffalo at age 17 after graduating from St. Titus High School.

She lived in Buffalo for many years and moved to Oil City about 15 years ago. She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Oil City.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Clifford M.; three sons, Patrick of Camarillo, Calif., Timothy of Seneca, Pa., and Mark of Grove City, Pa.; a daughter, Mary Faith Garry; 25 grandchil-dren; and 25 great-children.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Teresa's Catholic Church, 1974 Seneca St.
