Gerald E. Moeser, a retired custodial engineer for Buffalo Public Schools, died Friday (Jan. 22, 1999) in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a brief illness. He was 84.
A Buffalo native, Moeser worked as an engineer custodian at Schools 78, 10, 24, 82, 40, 47, 74 and 24. He retired from the school system in 1981.
A Buffalo resident for many years, he moved to Cheektowaga in 1997.
Moeser was a member of Local 409, International Union of Operating Engineers, and the Holy Name Society of St. James Catholic Church.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Helen Kneis; two sons, Anthony of Amherst and Robert J. of Harvest, Ala.; three daughters, Sister Marion of Berkeley, Calif., Susanne Moeser-Shepardson of Cheektowaga and Mary Sobkowiak of the Town of Tonawanda; and a brother, Jacob of Joplin, Mo.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in St. James Church.
Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
