Chester A. Michalak Sr., 78, died Thursday (Jan. 21, 1999) in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, after a brief illness.

Born in Buffalo, he was a commercial and residential painter from 1945 until the time of his death. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Newfane.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, the former Mildred Flewellyn; two sons, Chester Jr. and David, both of Lockport; a brother, Valentine of Alden; four sisters, Irene Dehr of Marilla, Anna Kulkulka of Depew and Mary Dehr and Leona Domeraski, both of Florida; a dear friend, Renee Pollard; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Charlotteville Road, Newfane.
